This project adresses the border as a productive space where new forms of criticism, action and value come into being. Prompted by an invitation to exhibit my work at MOCA Tucson, I decided to send a brick from an abandoned brick factory in Sásabe, Sonora. The brick was smuggled across the valley that separates Sásabe from Tucson -following the same route that drugs and undocumented immigrants use- and delivered at the doors of the museum. The production budget granted was given to a smuggler as pay for his work.
